Viewing Grades in Moodle

To view all of your grades in Moodle, select "Grades" from the Dashboard Menu in the upper right corner of Moodle. By selecting this, you will see a list of all available courses, and the overall points you've received thus far. If you see a dash ( - ) it means no grade has been entered yet. Clicking on the course title will take you directly to the Grades page within that course.

Or, if you are already in a course, you can access your grades for the course using the Administration block.

You will be brought to a large spreadsheet of your grades as recorded thus far in the course. You can review your grades, which are broken up into categories.

  • The Grade item column lists all activities within the course;
  • The Calculated weight column displays the weight of each item within a category, and of the category's weight for the course total;
  • The Grade column lists the point value you earned on an assessment;
  • The Range column lists the points available;
  • The Percentage column lists your percentage grade;
  • The Feedback column lists any feedback the instructor may have given on a particular assessment.
  • To jump immediately to an assessment, click the name of the activity in the Grade item column.

    It should be noted that your instructor controls what grades you are allowed to see. If you have a question concerning a grade, you may contact your instructor for further assistance.
